The 15^th Edition of the Asia Cup is going to start on 27^th August 2022. A total of 6 teams will be fighting for the trophy. India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and one qualifier (from UAE/ Singapore/ Kuwait/ Hong Kong) will try their luck. The tournament is going to be held in UAE. India in Asia Cup 2022:

If we talk about the hot favorite team in the Asia Cup, it is the defending champion i.e. India. The team has been very consistent in the last few years in all formats. The team has enough skill and form that it can outperform any team playing against it. The team has placed at no 1 in the T20 ranking, which stamps the call for it to be a hot favourite.

The captain will be Rohit Sharma. Kohli being in bad form can also gain his form back in the tournament. Otherwise, he has a good replacement against his name i.e. Hardik Pandya who can cover his deficient skills.

Pakistan has won two T20 series against the West Indies in the last two years. It has also defeated Bangladesh in the same format. It has won the Asia Cup twice till now and appears as a strong contender for the trophy this year.

Afghanistan in Asia Cup 2022:

Afghanistan is a rapidly growing team in the world but still, a lot of work has to be done. For now, if it wins in the presence of teams like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, it will be very surprising. However, this is even not impossible in cricket. The regular performing players like Nabi, Jannat, Shahzad and Rashid have made Afghanistan to this ranking from zero.
